about

Having grown up in Virginia's Rail Heritage region, this is a blues track inspired by Marcus' love of trains covering themes of procrastination, paranoia, depression, and despair.

lyrics

There's a train sittin' at the station
Blowing black smoke as high as the eye can see
Yeah there's a train sittin' at the station
And it's down there waitin' on me.
But I'm still home packing my bags,
If I miss that train I don't know where I'll be

Because my baby—she's out there waitin' on me
At the next stop down the line.
Said my baby is out there waitin' on me
At the next stop down the line.
Y'all know if I miss that train
Can't nobody tell me if my baby's still gonna be mine

Now, I said "Wait a minute, who was that?!"
I could've swore I just saw my best friend run by
Yeah I said "Wait a minute, who was that?!"
Look like he had his bags packed wearing a mighty big smile
Y'all know if I miss that train
I might as well just lay down and die.

Yeah there's a train sittin' at the station
Can't you see that black smoke rise?
Yeah there's a train sittin' at the station
Smokestack gleamin' in your eyes
I think I just heard that lonely whistle blow
Lord know I can't get out this town to save my life.
